What happens after the quote arrives
The quote states a locked maximum price per gallon for your term of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. If the number works, you prepay your gallons and begin filling with a FuelAnchor card at the stations you designate, chosen from any that accept Visa or Mastercard and updatable during the term. From then on you pay the pump price when it sits below your locked maximum and your locked rate when the market rises above it, with FuelAnchor absorbing everything past the ceiling.
If the number does not work for you, nothing happens. There is no obligation attached to asking, and no penalty for asking again later, which some operators do seasonally or before each large job. Because every quote is computed fresh from the market of its day, your volume, and your term, asking is the only way to know your number: there is no rate card to consult, yours or anyone else's.
Common questions
Is the quote binding on me? No. It is an offer you can accept by proceeding or simply let pass.
Can I quote before a job I have not won yet? Yes. Operators bidding work sometimes request a quote alongside the bid to know the fuel worst case before committing a price to their own customer.
